The vato stash

Let me just tell you about this magnificent vacation my grandparents took us on. My grandparents were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and wanted to take everyone (their children and the grandchildren) on a vacation. Don't be too alarmed there is only 20 of us, including all the wives and husbands of my cousins, we're a small group. They decided to take us to this place near Rocky Point Mexico, they were paying for the villa and the food, we just had to pay our way down there. Umm heck yes we are going, free trip to mexico I'm there. Arch's parents had been asking us for months to take Zaylie for a week while we go on a vacation, and this seemed like the perfect time to cash in that request. We set off to Wyoming to meet them half way between idaho falls and loveland CO, made the switch and were off to SLC where we met up with my grandparents and the rest of the clan and drove to Pheonix where all of us girls went to Barnes and Noble to pick up the newly released book "Breaking Dawn" or as Arch calls it "Breaking Wind." It was a highlight of the trip thats why I mention it.

The Next morning we headed to Rocky Point. The place we stayed was about 20 minutes away from the main town Puerto Penasco, so its super secluded and they are these private villas where our back porch was literally on the beach. The only down side to these villas was they were solar powered so no A/C. So it was freakin hot. But who cares I'm living on the beach for 5 days! We had a blast playing in the ocean, which if anyone knows me I am petrified of the ocean and I actually got in and body surfed the waves. Awesome. We played cards, ate melted snacks, drank warm pop, caught fish, bones, crabs...the kind that live in the water...when the tide would go out at night, took walks along the beach, Arch did some bartering in spanish with his vato stash and got Zaylie a dang cute dress for a screamin deal. It was like the best vacation ever, our cell phones didn't work there so it was completely stress free, plus no child. Angels singing.

After 5 blissful days on the beach we drove to Las Vegas. We watched my grandpa and aunt Katy loose all their money, we are huge card players in my family, black jack, every kind of poker, hearts, cribbage, 31 everything, so it was really hard for me to not join in with them, but I held strong and only gambled my two dollars away at the penny slots. Good times. I couldn't have asked for a better vacation and a huge shout out to my inlaws who made this vacation that much better. Okay I know I'm sounding like a bad mom who doesn't really love her child, but seriously it was awesome, and I love my child to pieces, but who wants to run around after an 18 month old in 115 degree weather, trying to get her to eat, sleep, and keep her happy...not me!

This was our back porch

Reading Breaking Dawn, there were five of us reading it that week. The guys were getting pretty tired of it because we all wanted to read when they wanted to play in the ocean.

Arch got fried, but the next day he was pretty much mexican.

Nice huh?

We introduced the fam to Bonanza, it was a huge hit.

Family Pictures

These were taken in October and for any of you who remember our family pictures from last year, yes we are in the same colors...my mom's orders. Anyway Zaylie was taking "you want me to do what now?" pills so needless to say it was quite the adventure. Here are a few of the pictures we ended up with. Oh and by the way after two hours of taking pictures my mom wasn't satisfied with ANY of them, so thats right folks three weeks later we were back at it, those pictures I haven't gotten yet, so if there are any worthy pictures ill post them later.

Oh and here are some pictures of Zaylie for those of you who are ready to disown me as friends for not posting picture of my child. :)

Things started out okay...

Then a melt down...

We bribed her with candy...

and things were fine...she's eating in our pictures, but fine...

however I only had one candy bar in my purse...

Finally she peaced out.

Arch and his bros

Me and Cass

And the Zaydster

This is the best we could do she's not smiling but it was a long day and she was a trooper.

For reals?

Is it for the reals thursday again? Wow. Okay so sorry my next post is another thankful thursday post, I will try to do better... seriously.

1. I am thankful for my new coat(s) yes thats right COATS!!! YAY!!!! I got a few new coats for my birthday from Old Navy, with their 50 percent off coat sale. I have been looking for the perfect off white coat knee length Pea Coat for like two years now, and I found it with only one extra small left in the store, it was totally fate I swear. happy sigh. I got a grey one just like it, but then went on monday and found another grey coat that I liked better and exchanged it, and then I brought it home to show arch and he thought it looked like a homeless beggers coat. Nice.

This is my homeless begger coat, the other grey one was exactly like the white coat. Should I exchange it again?

2. For a thoughtful husband who made my birthday a blast from the moment I woke ,seeing happy birthday written on the mirror to homemade coupon books to dinner and a movie. He's the best!

3. That I didn't have any new cavities at my dentist appointment.

Thankful Thursday

My sister in law has been doing this on her blog, and since I'm trying harder to become once again blogger savvy, I've decided this is a fun one to do so I'm copying her. :)

1. I'm thankul that Arch has taken over the house project...I mean I'm still picking everything out, and still on the phone a lot, but I no longer deal with uneducated men looking at me like I'm some stupid 15 year old girl who doesn't know what she's talking about and doesn't give me any respect like its their job to not give me respect. I mean seriously. I love not being in the car from 9 am to 8:30 at night running around like a chicken with my head cut off, I love that I get to feed Zaylie lunch at home instead of in the car, and that she can have a nap at home instead of in the car, and I love being able to play with Zaylie at home, instead of making her color pictures again in the car.

2. I am so thankful for my Jeep, not because its been this awesome car that never breaks down or has any problems, because frankly that would be a lie, I'm thankful for it because its been big enough with plenty of room for Zaylie and I to live in for the past four months.

3. I'm thankful for my sistser in law Cassie, she is my bestest friend in the whole world and I would probably go insane with out her in my life. Its the best to know I always have a friend I can tell anything to and she will listen and not think I've taken crazy pills. Well she might think so but she would tell me that I'm taking crazy pills and help get me back on track. :) And my favorite thing of all is that we will always and forever be friends, not just because we are bff's but because we married brothers so we are literally stuck with each other FOREVER. (I was thinking of the sandlot just then) This is how I think about it... you know when you were younger and you would go on family vacations and you would always ask to bring a friend because its just no fun with just your family... now I always have that friend. :)

4. I am thankful for the chocolate cake that Janna bought for the birthday bash we had here last weekend. I am thankful for it because half of it was left at my house and everyday i have looked forward to putting Zaylie down for a nap and watching an episode of Grey's Anatomy with a piece of this freakin good chocolate cake and a scoop of ice cream. Its about that time right now actually so I'm off~ just be happy for me.

Where the mother crap have I been?

Warning. Warning. Warning. This blog contains no pictures, camera charger missing. Does contain much rambling in order to catch up the last four months.

Yes, where the mother crap have I been you might wonder...well I have been avoiding/dreading blogging the past few...months mainly because I feel like I should do some major catch up post starting back in June (and the idea of it makes me want to vomit in a bucket and
I hate to vomit). Yes freakin June, how the flip am I supposed to do that when we have been going non stop since June, way to much to tell. But today I'm home with a sick child, with no where to go because Arch took the Jeep to work today because his truck has a flat so dangit I'm going to blog.

Basically since the middle of June we have been gone traveling every weekend till the second week of September. I went to st. George leaving Arch with Zaylie for 5 days to go with my sister in law Cassie to help her mom with weddings (she's an amazing wedding planner) and it was freakin awesome to be baby free for five whole days. We went to Salt Lake to spend Independence Day with Arch's brothers, the next weekend we went to to Seattle Washington, and Camano Island for Arch's brother Sam's wedding, then it was off to Rachell and Tims wedding in Montana and then to Wyoming for her reception. That next weekend I went to Provo for a semi roommate reunion, it was only Katie, Lindsay and I but it was fantabulous! It was just like the old days as if five years had never passed. We talked about all the boys we used to date and had crushes on, all the funny roommate stories, and facebooked people all night long. As Nacho would put it, "it was de best."

Then the next weekend it was off to Rock Springs Wyoming to meet up with Arch's parents to drop Zaylie off so they could watch her in CO while Arch and I went to Rocky Point Mexico for my family Reunion. (that will most likely be a whole extra post itself, coming to my blog on a later date.) After Mexico some of us went to Las Vegas for a couple of days, we got to stay in a pent house suite at the top of Caesar's palace. We checked in with my grandparents and it happened to be their 50th wedding anniversary so the lady worked her magic and got us both penthouse suites. Awesome. After ten days of playing we met up with Arch's mom in SLC so we could become parents again. The next weekend we stayed home. Angels singing.

The weekend after that Arch's parents came to visit, they helped Arch put up a fence, while I hosted a neighborhood garage sale in our garage. As Arch's parents were about to leave they asked us if they could take Zaylie again until we came to CO for Sam's open house in 11 days. Well how can you say no to that, we had just begun to build our house (and I am the builder, that's right we didn't hire a builder, its me, and wow that is another blog post as well) so 11 days with out Zaylie would be the bomb digitiy to get things done. So with Zaylie gone we were free to help Zach and Keri move to Boise. The boys were beasts but it was so fun to help them move and see their new place. We even made the guys put up all of the pictures and decorate before we left, they loved every minute of it. :)

That next weekend we were off to Colorado for Sam and Amber's open house, it was a lot of fun to be with a bunch of family again, the wedding was great and it was so good to see our little munchkin again. Since then we have been super busy with our house, learning a lot of big lessons, and a few small lessons too. The framing, trusses, sheeting, and plumbing are all done, electrical, mechanical and the roof goes on this week. Oh yeah duh, we moved! We found some renters for our house, and moved into my grandparents house who are snow birds and head to California for the winter, so it worked out perfectly. Except that the weekend we chose to move I came down with the flu, fever chills, sore throat, throwing up, basically the works; I was totally out of commission so Arch and anyone else who could, packed up my house. So I have no idea where ANYTHING is and its driving me crazy. And of course Arch's comment to that is, "how convenient" right as if me the control and clean freak of the century wants ameuters cleaning and organizing my things. I think the idea of it made my flu even worse.

Thats All folks.

Good freak

I know, I know I've been MIA for way too long, and sorry to disappoint but I don't have some monster "catch up" post, however I thought I'd give you a little somethin'. This is Zaylie in April, nothing has changed much since these pictures were taken (except she's much slimmer), but she still LOVES to play with daddy's tools and help him work. She's totally a daddys girl and 99.5 %(see below to read about the other 0.05%) tom-boy, she loves to play in dirt, she rubs it all over her body and on her face, she eats rocks, and actually has a mullet, so if I don't put up her hair, she actually looks like a little boy. But hey at least she looks like a dang cute little boy!

Here is the proof of that 0.05% thats left of her genetic makeup that she might be some day and in some way "girly"

Zaylie also LOVES to put on my make up, she now can reach into my make up drawer and pull out whatever her little heart desires and just goes to down on her face, most of it ends up in her ear, which i'm not sure why she thinks it goes there, but hey at least she's showing some sign of knowing her gender!

Here she is putting it in her ear

yes thats her eating the make up

Here is a more recent picture of Zaylie with her Aunt Cassie, and yes she's blonde, she's been blonde for a long time now, yes she came out with black hair it all fell out and grew in blonde, yes archie and I both have blonde siblings and Arch's hair was lighter as a baby, oh and yes she's Arch's, I mean seriously folks look at her face... is there any question...really. Can you tell I get asked this barage of questions about 7 times a day?
