Coming out of hiding #2

I'm sure most of my blog lurkers have moved on to other blogs that are frequently updated, so for those of you who still check to see if I've updated our blog in the past two months-WE'RE BACK-for now. Our internet is a bit iffy at home, plus life has been out of contrizzol lately there just hasn't been time for internet frivolity. Anyway we've got some things to catch up on, such as our just plain crazy halloween party! All the usuals came, Zach and Keri, Ben and Ryanne, Nate and Scott and their dates, Brennen and Cassie, and we were able to add some new ones this year Bud-Keri's brother, and Sam Archie's brother (and their dates). We also invited some of Arch's work buddy's, so it was a happenin party. We had tons of food, the usual soups and rolls, a plethera of goodies, and freakin awesome costumes. Arch and I this year were....drum roll please.... Nacho Libre and Encarnacion the nun. Arch made the perfect nacho, and I wasn't such a bad nun myself. Zaylie was a bronco's cheerleader, she was so cute. Here are some pics of the event.

Zaylie and her friend Nola who was a Denver Nuggets cheerleader

Arch's work buddy's-- In the middle Rob-was a nerd-and far right Adam was Joe Dirt

Brennen and Cassie were Dwight and Angela from The Office

Sam and his girlfriend Amber came as a cowboy and Indian

Zach and Arch playing Zaylie. Oh by the way, Zach was a wetback and Keri was a baseball player.

So Ben brought his chain saw, so of course the pumpkins didn't last long. Then Arch and Zach had a brilliant idea... bust out the fireworks that they didn't use on July 4th. 10:30 pm on a school night, shizzle mayhem returned. We do have a video of the mayhem, we like to call it Ghetto life III.

So thats all for now, we hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and have a very Happy New year.

Coming out of hiding

Wow I feel like such a hypocrite. I think I am always the one to post a comment on anothers blog when its only been a week since they've posted something and say ..."Good freak, give us an update" And here I am taking two months to finally post some pictures, but thats it, thats all i got-pictures no events, no exciting news, just boring pictures. I feel like our lives have been so busy, but with what? That I couldn't tell you because I'm not sure myself. I guess thats just the life of being a mom, I feel like I am always running around like a chicken with its head cut off, but if you asked me at the end of the day what I did, I wouldn't know what to say. It seems like the simplest errand can now take forever with a child. My rule is to add an hour for every errand i have to run, so if I plan on going to walmart AND the dollar store, I would need to add an extra TWO hours to the amount of time it would typically take me to run to walmart and the dollar store. Do I have some serious issues, or can anyone else relate?

Anyway, here are some pictures updating you on the last two months, of course there are no pictures of Arch and I, just Zaylie--hope you enjoy.

Future model? haha

She was a crazy child up until we put her on the luv sac, and the second she sat on it, it was as if she knew it was a place to relax--we couldn't get her to smile, talk or move, she just sat there for about 5 minutes.

We joke about this face as her greeting face...this is the face she makes when she says hello, she puckers up her lips and sticks out her tongue.

Mouse Attack

Three weeks ago we went to Arch's annual family camp reunion up at Lily Lake in the Bear Tooth mountains, this was Zaylies first camping trip and she LOVED it! Zaylie loves to be outside, she even loves the wind, it makes her laugh. She was quite the trooper through the rainstorms, the thunderstorms, the nickle sized mosquitos, the constant appliage of mosquito spray and sunscreen, and the bajillion people always wanting to hold her. But the real story begins with our first night there, when Arch's uncle Rand invited us to sleep in his trailer. I'll tell the story from Arch's point of view, because it takes less time...We had been sleeping for about an hour when Arch twitched really bad, you know how you do that when you feel like your falling in your sleep, he opened his eyes and saw a big dark thing on his pillow, but then it went away, so he wasn't really sure if he was dreaming or what. So 20 minutes go by and he jumps really bad again, but this time he sits up and says... um theres a mouse in the trailer. I'm like what are you sure, he says..."YES IT RAN ACROSS MY FACE" yup he felt little cold feet prints run across his face... im like two inches away from arch...gross. So I sit up and look over at Zaylie and the second i look at her, I hear a scuttering and then the mouse RUNS ACROSS ZAYLIE'S FACE!!! Of course I freak out and scream "ZAYLIE" and grab her legs and pull her towards me, and she starts screaming... needless to say in the middle of the night, Arch went and made a bed for me and Zaylie in our Jeep and Arch slept in a tent...the mouse was seen the next day, but never found.

Here is an exampe of how dirty the kids get out there, and how many mosquito bites they get...this is only an hour into the morning, I can't even describe how covered they are in dirt by the end of the night--well i guess i can--they look like Derek Zoolander when he covers his face in black down in the coal mines--Zaylie will be among them next year...YIKES! Aren't
they so cute.

FREEZER BURN

So one day Arch thought it would be funny to give Zaylie a frozen otter pop to let her chew on, of course she had the time of her life, but look what it did to her face for 4 days.

LEMONS

We went out to dinner one night, and we thought it would be funny to see how she reacted to a lemon... we were all expecting to see a disorted face in disgust, but instead she grabbed the lemon and went to town. If you tried to take it away she would scream in protest until she got it back. She does this with pickles and limes too, I think she's going to be like her dad--if its edible she'll eat it. (I don't let her actually swallow chunks or anything, just wanted to be clear incase any of you think im a bad mother)

Zaylie has started eating solid foods, and LOVES it, she was a pro right from the start. Her favorites are sweet potatoes, banana's and prunes. But she absolutly hates pea's. She will actually keep eating them, she never turns down food, but she'll open her mouth like, awe man this stuff again. Then once the peas are in her mouth she'll make this awful face (kind of like you would expect with eating a lemon) and then start dry heaving, but she'll open her mouth again for another bite, but Arch won't let me feed them to her anymore, so no worries.

Just some cute stuff

Large and in Charge!

So I think every friend I have that wasn't pregnant when I was pregnant is now pregnant. Anytime I see any of them they have this cute little belly, and i think to myself, was i really that small too when i was that far along and just felt ginormous, or was I actually the beached whale that I thought I was? These friends of mine always tell me how huge they are and how fat they feel but then i hear "Oh I'm still wearing all of my old pants" and I almost want to vomit a little in my mouth (I couldn't wear my normal pants starting at 7 weeks along, just a little side note there) So just now, I went to my pictures file on my computer to check it out, hoping to find a cute little pregnant belly like many of my friends and much to my dismay I found the complete opposite. My belly may have been "cute" (however I think people were really more amazed that such a tiny person could have such a huge belly and thats what was "cute" about it) but it definitely was not little, I actually was the beached whale that I remembered! Anytime I tell people that I gained 50 pounds and had a belly the size of a beach ball, not a single person believes that little tiny Shantay could get that big. Well folks, I've got the proof! So here's to all you who doubted me, and to all of my pregnant friends, good luck and i hope more than anything that you don't get as big as I did.

This is four months pregnant, no not 8 months pregnant, four! p.s. this is at halloween, we don't normally dress like that! Arch was a biker dude and I was his knocked up biker chick..cute huh.

5-6 months along

7 months along, this is about the time people would tell me I looked like I was due any day. But don't you worry I still had two more months to go!

This is 8 months along about 5 or 6 weeks left to go. You wonder if its humanly possible to get any bigger... keep scrolling down and it happens.

This is me two weeks before I delivered

And this is the blessed day when I got rid of my belly and gained the most precious beautiful girl in the whole world. Zaylie was born almost 3 weeks early too, can you imagine! Yikes-- i think would be an understatement.

So the moral of the story is, you may look like a beached whale for -whats really 10 months of your life, but what you get as the end result is better than anything you could have dreamed of.

The Gem of the Gem State

We went to Rigby Lake with Zach and Keri, and who knew that Rigby Lake would be just as awesome as Cancun...according to Zach and Arch of course. We have some other pictures but I'm not sure how appropriate they would be for public viewing...lets just say it involves balls of sand.

Our little Frog

Janna, Arch's mom, got us this super cute frog towel (in honor of Zaylie's frog bathroom) We are seriously in love with it as you can see why!

I Couldn't Resist

Here are just some pictures of Zaylie that are just so cute I couldn't resist putting them on- Enjoy!

Our First Family Picnic

So this was quite a while ago, but it was a momentous event in our little family so I just have to share it. Zaylie LOVES being outside, she gets so giggly and excited its the best. In fact her new favorite thing is the kiddie pool--pictures of that to come in the next post.

The Fourth of July--I know this post should have been about our fourth of July... however most of the pictures are on my dads camera, and I haven't had a chance to download them. SO you'll just have to wait--I'm sure your sitting on the edge of your seats in anticipation...
